Alluguard Top Brass Locked Up all in the Name of Charity

Leading garage door manufacturer Alluguard has a place at the heart of the Yorkshire community and has recently lent a hand with a number of local charity initiatives.

Back in February, Gary Brooks and Darren Baker, Managing Directors at Alluguard, along with Paul Housley of JB Doors, took part in the Remand and Release event - joining a host of other prominent figures from the local business community in being arrested, charged and locked up in prison with other offenders, all in the name of charity.

Each individual had to raise a minimum of £500 to secure their release, with all proceeds being split between In2Change, a charity that helps ex-offenders and their families, and the AHS Foundation – an organisation that provides support and training in areas affected by natural disasters.

Alluguard also recently raised £800 by donating an Alluguard Insulated Remote Controlled Roller Door, including fitting, to a Masquerade Ball and Auction in aid of Camille’s Appeal, a charity that supports young children with brain tumours. In addition, Darren Baker is a patron of the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity and organises the annual Weston Park Charity Ball, which has raised more than £200,000 over the last five years.
“At Alluguard we firmly believe that business shouldn’t just be about profit,” says Gary Brooks, “it is also about being part of a community and helping out whenever possible and that is why we are proud to support charitable initiatives across Yorkshire. We want to be able to put something back and use our position to help those that need it most.”
