AR Design Studio’s residential project 4Views, Winchester has received the Sunday Times British Homes Award in the ‘One-off House or Extension’ category.
The architects specified AluK’s window and sliding door systems to support their concept of connection with nature, allowing natural light to flood the house, and ensure natural ventilation and free flow of fresh air.
For the project AluK BSC94 (Duo Rail) and BSC94 (Triple Track) Sliding Door System, as well as 58BW ST (Duo Rail) Steel Replacement Window System were specified.
These have then been used for extensive glazing of walls, roof lights and for the open central garden entrance.
The modern frames with clean lines of the windows and floor-to-ceiling doors maximised the landscape views, while providing the highest thermal performance levels and enhanced security.
