Security and Access Control specialists Tate Colson have announced the introduction of the new and innovative Vu-Com, one of the most convenient, easy to install and simple to use, colour video door entry control systems on the market.
The Vu-Com 2000 series incorporates the very latest in wireless technology, providing audio and colour video monitoring, day or night, via the weatherproof call station. The external unit, powered by a simple plug in supply, transmits directly to an easy to operate and fully mobile handset with an impressive free field range of 300 metres.
The simplicity and reliability of the new wireless system enables the occupier to safely screen and speak to callers without the need to open the door or leave the secure environment of the office or armchair. Once the caller has been identified and permitted access the door can be opened manually or by pressing the electronic release button on the handset to activate a separately supplied electronic door lock to allow remote access.
The highly versatile Vu-Com system can be expanded to enable one handset to monitor up to two access call stations or provide a linked audio and paging facility where two handsets are used on the same system.

This door entry system does look quite good, and I'm very impressed by the range of 300m. I think the mobile handset would be the most useful part; it's much better than having to be in one place to monitor what's going on.
