German automation specialists SOMMER are launching a range of high performance operators for industrial doors. The Giga range is designed for use with sectional doors, roller doors and high speed foil doors and will be available in the UK from the second quarter in 2013*.
With over 30 years experience in manufacturing operators for domestic applications such as garage doors and gates, SOMMER has a wealth of research and design expertise and a reputation for producing high quality and very reliable operators and controls.

Comprehensive Range
The SOMMER product line includes operators for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
• For sectional doors GIGA sedo operators provide an output torque between 70 Nm and 140 Nm, with bronze worm wheels in a one-piece die-cast gear housing giving long, reliable performance.
• For roller doors, the GIGA roll range has an output torque from 140 to 1400Nm to cater for virtually any size of application.
• For high speed doors, the GIGA speed operator system provides an output torque between 35 and 200 Nm with 120 rpm at 35 Nm.
All operators work with the SOMMER GIGA control, a versatile and feature-packed control system.

SOMMER have kept flexibility at the heart of their design, enabling the GIGA range of industrial door operators to be tailored to the individual needs and processes of the companies which use them.
The GIGA control is simple to program with a five row clear display and user-friendly menu with all programming done from the outside using the buttons on the cover. For easy use, reports are shown on the large clear text display which can also be backlit. For unsurpassed security, there are two password protected user levels - for administrators and installers.
The GIGA control unit automatically detects changes in rotation direction and has in-built automatic overrun correction. It's simple to connect and setup a frequency converter and the unit will automatically detect and assign safety devices and identify contra-flow modules.
The GIGA range is tested according to EN13241-1 and covered by a five year SOMMER guarantee.
