Twenty staff at leading timber merchant Arnold Laver are working through the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) Diploma in a move that will see the Sheffield-based company’s production, sales and technical staff improve their levels of knowledge and customer support and the company increase its fire doors business.
Arnold Laver takes particular pride in the high quality of both its products and customer service and invests significantly in training its staff so that they can share their expertise with their customers.
The FDIS Diploma comprises a series of online education modules that have been researched and authored by industry experts, which can be studied at a pace to suit individual learners and is completed by passing the FDIS Diploma examination which is taken at a local centre. The Arnold Laver staff are working through the modules with the aim of improving their awareness of the issues around specification, installation and maintenance of fire doors. It is planned for some of the staff to move onto the second stage of the FDIS programme by becoming FDIS Certificated Inspectors.
