‘World’s Strongest Production Padlock’ Gains LPCB Approval

Security specialist Squire has achieved LPCB (Loss Protection Certification Board) approval for its Stronghold® SS80, designed as the world’s strongest production padlock.

This outstanding British made heavy duty padlock - which is capable of a tensile pull of 16-20 tonnes - has been approved to LPCB’s standard LPS 1654: Issue 1.0 security rating classification SR3.

It is the latest in a host of Squire’s Stronghold® SS50 and SS65 padlocks to achieve LPCB’s security rating SR2 and SR3.

LPCB works closely with insurers, government, police and manufacturers to ensure that LPCB approved products have been rigorously tested to evaluate resistance to deliberate attack and their ability to operate reliably.

This means specifiers, facilities managers and suppliers can be confident that Squire’s LPCB certified Stronghold® padlocks offer the ultimate levels of deterrence against physical intervention, burglary, vandalism and terrorism.

Squire’s Stronghold® SS80 features a 2kg solid steel lock body and 16mm diameter hardened boron steel shackle.

Recommended for perimeter gates, warehouses, containers, lorries and high security doors, the patented Stronghold® design is an assurance of the most advanced product performance.

It is one of many new additions to Squire’s formidable CEN grade Stronghold® range, along with latest developments in advanced hi-security cylinder technology.

Managing director John Squire said:
“This important accreditation is another example of Squire's ongoing commitment to best practice and ensuring our purpose designed products offer exceptional resistance against a sustained attack.”
Most insurers and specifiers look for the LPCB mark of approval when dealing with fire and security issues. LPCB, and the products it approves, play an extremely important role in protecting people and property from criminals and terrorists.

Commenting on behalf of LPCB, Richard Flint said:
“We are delighted to certify Squire in recognition of their padlocks’ fantastic performance to LPS 1654. Their approval through LPCB provides significant reassurance of their padlock reliability.”
