Specification Support Service from Yale

For social housing providers it is important to consider all the issues early during the specification process, as choosing robust, effective solutions from the outset can help to ensure a tenant’s feeling of trust and safety, whilst also reducing the need for costly call backs in the long-term.

Yale’s Specification Support Service offers the opportunity to take a detailed walk through the relevant legislation, standards and guidance, enabling housing providers and specifiers to make an informed choice.

John Pearl, Specification Manager for Yale, said:
“Yale’s Specification Support Service aims to help you make the right choices in window and door hardware. We’ll provide a clear and impartial guide to the issues you need to address, the legislative requirements that you must
meet and the products most suited to the application and environment in which they need to operate.
“You can rest assured that Yale’s extensive industry experience will help you find the best hardware solutions, for you and your residents.”

As the leading name in home security, Yale is able to provide expert guidance and advice on safeguarding residents and properties with its free RIBA accredited CPD seminars.

John adds: “With cumulatively over 36 years industry experience, each individual within our dedicated Specification team can successfully cover the wide range of topics required.
“We continuously review our RIBA accredited CPD seminars and are happy to present to groups, or on a one-to-one basis. Our service includes template specifications that can be tailored to the individual needs of your residents.”
As part of Yale’s commitment to its partners, the Partnership Pledge Plus offers an audited warranty scheme to housing providers who specify Yale’s hardware, including the austenitic stainless steel range. It has been designed to help ensure that the hardware specified, is that which is supplied and fitted.

Under the scheme, which involves no cost to either the fabricator or specifier, Yale will monitor individual contracts to ensure that the right components have been used and correctly installed. Additionally, site visits by the specification team will help to confirm that the most suitable ironmongery products are being used and that standards are maintained throughout the duration of the project.

Visits will also oversee any hardware issues that may arise during the installation process. Yale then provides a 15-year warranty direct to the housing provider on contracts where the specification has been met in full.
