Tommafold Bi-fold Door Gear is Secured by Design Accredited

Runners Sliding Systems, a specialist in sliding door gear has joined Secured By Design, (SBD).
Secured By Design is a group of national police projects focusing on the design and security of new and refurbished homes, commercial properties and car parks and a police initiative that supports the principles of ‘designing out crime’ through physical security and processes.

Tommafold bi-fold door gear, a Runners Sliding Systems product has been accredited by Secured By Design, this is following a review of Tommafold’s PAS 24:2016 test report evidence and Tommafold’s safety features.

The Secured By Design accredited Tommafold gear has a number of security features, including a Tommafold locking flush bolts, Tommafold secure hinges and a Quest Reliance D8 multi-point lock.

Security has featured prominently in the design of Tommafold, with concealed fixings, there are no external parts that can be damaged. Tommafold door hinges cannot be removed from the hinge shaft once installed, have a 10mm heavy duty shaft and a security locking screw that’s only accessible from inside the property. Years of development has produced an extremely durable and secure product that is easy to install.

Daniel Wells, Director at Runners Sliding Systems commented:
“We are delighted to join Secured By Design, security is an important part of our offering, as experts in door gear and hardware we are always looking to further develop the security features of our product range.
“Tommafold has been developed with security at the heart of the design process and it’s great to receive the Secured By Design accreditation, durability and ease of installation are two further key features of Tommafold”.
Development officer at Secured By Design, Doug Skins, commented:
“Secured By Design helps people identify police approved products and aims to promote practices that increase security and reduce crime, we welcome Runners Sliding Door Systems as members”.
