A company specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of an extensive range of access controlled communal entrance doors and glazed screens for the housing, education and commercial sectors, has renewed its membership with Secured by Design (SBD), the official police security initiative.
Based in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, NEOS Protect Limited meets all the mandatory security requirements for communal entrance doorsets contained in Approved Document Q (ADQ) of the Building Regulations 2010, which became effective in England in October 2015.
NEOS Protect has nine products that have been accredited by SBD, which requires that doors are not only tested by the manufacturer, but also have been certified by a certification body approved by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) – and therefore exceed the requirements of ADQ.

Housing association projects have included working with East Thames, Glasgow HA, Hereford Housing, L&Q Group, McCarthy and Stone, Places for People, and Swan New Homes.
In addition, building relationships with door entry and access control installers as well as curtain walling and façade companies, has led to NEOS working directly for these companies to provide a complete entry and access solutions package for a number of clients.

I am delighted that they are continuing their membership with us. Their mission statement says the company is ‘dedicated to the protection of lives’. That’s great for us, but more importantly, that’s a very strong message and benefit for their customers.”SBD Senior Technical Officer, Alfie Hosker, said:
“I am absolutely delighted that Kirsty and her Team at NEOS have continued their SBD membership with us. They have been great advocates of the UK Police Service flagship crime prevention initiative for years and I look forward to this continuing for years to come.”
