The Blue-Light Emergency hub in Milton Keynes is one of the first bespoke 999 emergency projects of its kind in the UK. It has been designed to dispatch the three emergency services from its prime location next to the A5 in West Ashland, Milton Keynes.
The distinctive Red, Blue, and Green representing Bucks Fire & Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police and South-Central Ambulance Service has been used throughout the central 3 storey office and the north and south appliance bays.
Jewers Doors were delighted to win the contract from Kidlington-based Kingerlee Ltd to supply their Swift and Osprey doors for the new tri-services facility.
Eight sets of Jewers’ Swift electrically operated bi-fold doors were supplied for the fire bays, which safely propel the door from closed to fully open in only 5 seconds
Each set of doors measures 3.75 metres wide by 4 metres high. And 2 of their Osprey electrically operated sliding/folding doors for the ambulance bays. Each Osprey door measures 5 metres wide by 3.2 metres high.
Fire crews from Bletchley Fire Station and Great Holm Fire Station have already moved into the new facilities, with the teams from Thames Valley Police and South-Central Ambulance Service due to move in shortly.
An official opening ceremony is planned for Spring 2021.
