121 stunning classic, collector and performance cars will go under the hammer at H&H Classics’ opening auction of 2023 at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.
The sale, which takes place on Wednesday 15 March at 1pm, marks the start of a momentous year for the company, as it celebrates its 30th anniversary, continually trading for longer than any of its UK or European rivals.
“Every H&H auction is a unique occasion but 2023 is a particularly special time for us as we celebrate our landmark 30th year,” comments Damian Jones, senior motorcar specialist, H&H Classics.
“Our first auction took place in 1993 and I’m delighted that we have a car for sale from that very same year, as well as a host of examples from the 1920s through to more modern offerings too.”
Indeed, included within the sale are cars spanning more than 100 years, from the oldest, one of ten cars from the 1920s, a magnificent 1920 Bugatti Type 23 estimated at £200,000 - £250,000, through to the newest, a 2022 registered Ultima GTR, estimated at £38,000 - £45,000.

Those looking for a tribute to some of the twentieth century’s greatest sports racers are spoilt for choice with an aluminium-bodied 1970 (1996) Lister Jaguar ‘Knobbly’ Evocation estimated at £120,000 - £140,000, a 1967 (2003) Revival Motorsport Jaguar D-Type Evocation which raced in the ‘Powered by Jaguar’ series by motorsport commentator Tony Jardine, estimated at £65,000 - £75,000, a 1960 (1989) Proteus Jaguar C-Type Evocation built by Mike Hallowes, estimated at £60,000 - £70,000 and a 2007 KVA GT40 Evocation, estimated at £40,000 - £50,000.
Meanwhile, for those looking for something more relaxing or with a little more grandeur, there is an array of luxury British classics including a 1959 Jaguar XK150, 1975 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI or 2016 Bentley Continental GTC Speed Black Edition.
What’s more, classic car fans looking to pick up a bargain might be tempted by one of 19 cars being offered without reserve, including a 1995 Bentley Mulsanne, a 1998 Lotus Elise or a 1975 MG B GT V8.
Jones continues, “We are delighted to present our latest auction catalogue of classics and performance cars. With such a eclectic mix of cars, I’m sure there is something to appeal to all fans, whether it’s something with motorsport pedigree, a slice of Hollywood glamour, or one of the 33 lots from the 80s and 90s that continue to prove to be so popular at the moment.”
Since its foundation in 1993, H&H Classics has successfully sold over 15,000 cars and motorcycles and is one of only five auction houses to have ever sold an individual car for more than $10 million.
The auction takes place at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford on 15 March, with viewing available on Tuesday 14 March. Bidding can be done online, via telephone, or in person.
