Adams Rite, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a division of ASSA ABLOY has supplied its new commercial Multipoint lock, integrated in a Kawneer door set, to an Innovation hub that exists to serve the engineering and manufacturing sector.
Since 2006, Hethel Engineering Centre, in Norfolk, has developed and grown more than 70 start-up businesses. The strategic site provides incubation space and bespoke business support for companies and also aims to become a component in achieving a low carbon economy. The facility has recently expanded and 16 new offices and workshop spaces have been built to create a better environment to support businesses.
The centre’s tenants use the workshops to store equipment and machinery to make everything from road car simulators to software development for the lighting industry. JPJ Installations Limited of Braintree, Essex, an approved Kawneer fabricator, integrated Sentinel M panic locks within Kawneer door sets, offering tenants the reassurance that the units they rent will be reliably and securely locked, so their assets are protected.
A complementary range of accessories, including panic exit devices, supports the Sentinel M range. The range aids specifers in meeting the latest industry standards; all panic locks are CE marked and tested to EN 1125 with additional hardware, allowing building users safe and speedy escape, without prior knowledge of the device.

“According to the BBC, recent research has shown that, manufacturers experience the highest levels of theft of physical assets, compared to other sectors. So it was crucial that we invested in a lock that could resist the latest methods of attack, whilst balancing the safety of occupants, allowing them to escape quickly and with ease in case of an emergency.
“Adams Rite offered the perfect solution for us, we are really pleased that we offer the first Kawneer doorsets to integrate Sentinel M.”
Richard Lawes, Sales Manager at ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, said:
“Hethel Engineering Centre revolves around unearthing innovative companies, so I think it is quite apt that one of Adams Rite’s newest, most innovative products was installed on the project; In fact this is the first time Sentinel M has been fitted in the UK.”
