Gilgen's commitment to product development has led to the company to be the first to achieve Secured by Design approval for our PAS:24 2016 Sliding Security Door (top image). The door still uses their unique slim aluminium profile with an upgraded glazing specification and is available in a full range of design configurations.

Gilgen’s SL range of automatic security rated sliding door sets offer optimum resistance to break-in attempts whilst providing architecturally pleasing people flow solutions. The Gilgen Ei30 fire-rated automatic sliding door (right) provides unique three in one functionality. A normal sliding door for everyday use, a flame-resistant fire door and a reliable emergency escape route. Tested to meet the requirements of European fire resistance standards EN1363-1 and EN1634-1.
Gilgen’s Ei30 resists flames and provides a thermal barrier for up to 30 minutes in full compliance with Part B of the Building Regulations. By dividing rooms into fire compartments, the systems delays the spread of fire and smoke giving pedestrians more time to escape and reduces damage to the property.

The optional “Total Open System” enables the door leaves to be swung open manually in an emergency to guarantee easy escape. The emergency exit functionality can be set to operate permanently, or in the event of a fire alarm / mains power failure, this allows easy access for transport of bulky items throughout the year, making it ideal for summer events and or garages. The Integrated closing mechanisms shut the door again after use to provide a reliable fire barrier.
