Ahmarra Door Solutions host Secured by Design

One of the UK’s leading performance doorset manufacturers, Ahmarra Door Solutions, welcomed Secured by Design’s Lyn Poole to their Fire Door manufacturing facility in Havant last week, with Ahmarra’s Marketing & Compliance Manager Vicki Boulton giving Lyn a tour of the factory.

The majority of Ahmarra’s work is for large-scale, new build construction projects for schools, hospitals, airports, hotels, luxury homes, social housing and commercial properties.

Ahmarra has dual certification compliance for both fire and security on their range of SBD accredited internal apartment entrance doorsets, providing peace of mind that the people, property and assets within the building are protected from opportunist thieves, vandalism, attack, fire and smoke.

Lyn Poole said:
“It was great to finally catch up with Vicki at the Ahmarra factory in Havant. They have been there a year but because of covid this is the first opportunity I have had to visit them there.
“The new factory is fantastic, airy, modern, well organised and full of up-to-date technical equipment, allowing people to utilise their skills more efficiently, with the increased amount of completed doorsets being the proof.
“I would like to thank Vicki and the team at Ahmarra for accommodating my visit during their busy working day, giving me a great insight into how the new factory is helping them maintain the high standards that Ahmarra doorsets are known for.”

Vicki Boulton, from Ahmarra Door Solutions, said:
“Ahmarra are pleased to have had a long association with Secured by Design. Our doorsets, that are produced under the Secured by Design scheme, are available with dual Q-Mark Enhanced Security Door and Q-Fire Door Manufacture certification, and are PAS24:2016 compliant.
“We’ve manufactured and installed 1000’s of internal entrance doors for council-led social housing projects and for high-end luxury apartments over recent years. It was great to be able to show Lyn around our new production facility and explain more about our manufacturing process and design options we offer.”

Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (Police CPI) is a police-owned organisation which delivers a wide range of crime prevention and demand reduction initiatives across the UK. The extensive Police CPI portfolio covers a variety of crime prevention initiatives, of which Secured by Design is the most well-known, with all initiatives designed to keep the public safe from crime and to reduce the demand on the police service.

Secured by Design (SBD) operates an accreditation scheme on behalf of the UK Police Service for products or services that have met recognised security standards. These products or services – which must be capable of deterring or preventing crime - are known as being of a ‘Police Preferred Specification’.

There are many hundreds of companies that produce over 7000 individual attack-resistant crime prevention products in more than 30 different categories that have met the exacting Police Preferred Specification. This includes doors, windows, external storage, bicycle and motorcycle security, locks and hardware, asset marking, alarms, CCTV, safes, perimeter security products and many others.

SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK.
