ABUS Granit Padlock Foils Burglary

Not all padlocks are created equal. As John Curran found out when he suffered a second burglary at his rural home, foiled by an ABUS 37/60 Granit Padlock which, even with tools, the intruders could not breach.

Burglars entered John’s rural property with a view to stealing his John Deere ATV. After a previous break-in John had secured the vehicle to steel bollards using the ABUS Granit Padlock. This proved too much for the intruders who left without the prized ATV.

ABUS Granit padlocks have been designed to the highest security standards, approved by insurance companies across Europe thanks to a pinch or tensile resistance of over six tonnes.

With a body and shackle made from hardened alloy steel that is cutting and sawing resistant and steel plates near the cylinder for additional protection, the Granit is almost impossible to break or force.

But more than that it also offers great resistance to ‘intelligent’ attempts at entry, such as lock-picking and manipulation thanks to its ABUS high-security locking system which can be supplied keyed alike with other locks and cylinders on the property.

ABUS Granit padlocks come with two keys supplied, one with LED Torch, and the distinctive black Granit coating for optimal corrosion protection.

John says:
“One Monday evening at 11pm, we were disturbed by five unwanted visitors. By the time I had got outside they had left but in the few minutes they were there they had managed to steal thousands of pounds worth of equipment.
“Fortunately the item that they had actually come to steal was protected by bollards, locked by ABUS Granit padlocks: an expensive BUT fantastic product. Well done ABUS!”
