Franchi Covid-Safe Products Win Hands Down

The door handle is probably the only part of a building that touched by every person coming in and out – and that makes them a potential hot spot for passing on viruses and bacteria.

As facilities managers and specifiers look for ways to adapt buildings to make them COVID-safe, Franchi plc has put together a raft of products to adapt doors with lever and pull handles to touch free operation, plus a suite of coatings and finishes which make door furniture safer and more COVID-secure.

Franchi Freehand is a range of products that quickly and simply convert lever and pull handles to hand-free operation – either using a forearm or foot. The Franchi Free Hand FR101 is a forearm shield for lever handles while the FreeHand FR102 works with pull handles.

Both offer a fast, simple temporary solution to the problem of infection transmission from hand to handle and from handle to hand. They can be quickly and easily installed on any 19-25mm diameter or square lever handle (FR101) or 19-38mm diameter round and some, also some square and oval section pull handles (FR102).

The Franchi Free Hand FR103 Lever Handle Door Opener is an innovative device that offers foot operation of a door for hands free functionality. A lever, pressed with the foot, operates the lever handle and allows the door to be opened with the foot.

The Franchi Freehand StepNpull can also be used on sliding as well as pivoting doors when fitted horizontally. Manufactured in robust stainless steel, the Franchi Freehand StepNpull is available in silver or black.

Franchi was established in 1970 in by Guerrino Franchi, and the business that bears his name is still family owned and run. In fifty years the company has built a reputation for providing a friendly, expert and efficient service for professional tradesmen, architects and contractors.

Franchi operates a wide variety of services - from locksmith and key cutting service from its four London branches that stock over 25,000 items, through to ironmongery specifications on some of the most prestigious residential, commercial, retail and leisure developments in the UK.

Franchi Glass is the leading supplier of architectural ironmongery fittings for glass doors as well as metal and timber door sets and now offers a bespoke product service for framed and frameless glass doors.
