NorDan UK Unveils New London Showroom and Dedicated Team

NorDan UK
, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of high-performance doors and windows, has opened a new office and showroom in the heart of London’s Clerkenwell area.

The site will also be the base for NorDan UK’s new dedicated team for London and the South-East as the company aims to grow its regional presence in newbuild, refurbishment and retrofit markets.

NorDan UK has seen huge growth in demand in recent years from new developments in the affordable housing sector as housing associations realise the benefits of its windows for energy efficiency and longevity. In fact it already supplies ten of the twelve G15 social landlords in the South East of England.

Already well established in the social housing and public sector markets, NorDan is now strengthening its presence to support the growing demand for high-quality, sustainable solutions in refurbishment and retrofit projects. These jobs traditionally use lower-cost  PVC windows, which are far less energy efficient and typically only last 10 to 12 years, which NorDan UK says is a false economy.

In contrast, NorDan UK’s StormGuard window, part of the NTech Range of aluminium-clad timber windows, offers a 30-year “fit and forget” warranty and a life expectancy of over 60 years. NorDan’s products reduce the need for frequent replacements, lower ongoing maintenance costs and support sustainability and compliance goals, making them a future-proof choice.

The new Clerkenwell space will feature a wide range of the company’s windows and doors, so architects, developers, landlords and private homeowners will be able to get expert advice and see tailored solutions.

As part of London Design Week, NorDan will also be hosting a special event on 20th May at the new showroom. Visitors can experience a live demonstration of the company’s latest window technology, learn more about how NorDan’s solutions can support projects, take part in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions, and enjoy complimentary sandwiches and refreshments throughout the day.

Craig Greenwood, Managing Director of NorDan UK, said:
“Our new Clerkenwell showroom is more than just a display, it’s a destination for inspiration, collaboration and innovation. We’re excited to offer our expertise to support the needs of landlords planning refurbishment and retrofit projects, as well as the ambitions of developers and homeowners across London and the South East.
“Clerkenwell is the perfect location for us. It’s a thriving hub of architects, housing experts and ideas, and we’re excited to be part of the community. We’ll be hosting regular exclusive events, open days, and networking opportunities at our new space and want to warmly welcome everyone along to experience the quality of our products first hand.”
The new London office and showroom is at 17/18 Aylesbury Street, Clerkenwell, Farringdon, EC1R 0DB.

Healthcare and Fire Safety: Why Prevention is Better Than the Cure

Health and wellbeing is naturally high on the agenda in healthcare facilities, but what more can be done to ensure fire door safety is being met with competency and not complacency? Alex Airnes of Allegion UK discusses.

Healthcare environments are synonymous with caution, wellness and safety.

Though, where National Health Service professionals work determinedly to meet the needs of their patients, equally as vital are the fire door safety procedures practiced throughout NHS premises.

Fire safety management plays a crucial role in all healthcare settings, where protecting staff, visitors and potentially vulnerable patients is a continuous effort.

Even with a host of unique operational challenges, hospitals, for example, are often considered to be one of the safest public buildings.

In fact, a survey conducted by The British Woodworking Federation discovered that 52% of respondents believed hospitals to provide the highest level of fire safety in a building.

Despite these perceptions, NHS data has previously reported a concerning rise in fire incidents across sites around the country.

The inherently busy nature of healthcare settings and around-the-clock use of facilities containing vulnerable patients, medical equipment and even flammable materials, presents a complex set of fire safety issues that must be addressed.

With that in mind, is there perhaps more work to be done to ensure fire door safety is approached professionally to further mitigate risk?

Health and fire door safety

In the three months ending January 2025, an average of 46,000 people visited major hospital A&E departments each day in England, with a further 27,300 visitors attending minor A&E facilities every day.

Fire doors play a vital role in protecting each of those individuals, but when paired with the fast-flowing traffic often found in healthcare facilities, this sustained level of footfall can create relentless environments that are unforgiving on fire doors and their hardware.

As a critical element of passive fire protection, fire doors are designed to compartmentalise fire and smoke for a specified period of time.

Where fire could spread quickly across the interconnected sections of healthcare estates, fire doors will form protective barriers for a minimum of 30 minutes (FD30) or 60 minutes (FD60), allowing occupants to escape and preventing potentially life threatening smoke inhalation in the process.

Fire doors can only operate effectively when working in tandem with their hardware components, such as hinges, seals and fire door closers.

Yet, all too often in healthcare settings, fire doors and their hardware become damaged and fall victim to improper maintenance and use, with some self-closing doors even propped open to improve the flow of traffic and ease of access for beds, wheelchairs and medical trolleys.

In turn, this leaves closers disengaged and renders doorsets useless in the event of a fire.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, healthcare management teams are given a direct responsibility to ensure employees and patients are safe within their premises.

With this, NHS trusts must nominate a ‘responsible person’, which is often an individual who possesses a legal responsibility to demonstrate effective fire safety procedures, undertake risk assessments and meet fire safety compliance.

In demanding healthcare environments, regular fire door inspections are key, and as part of their duties, a designated responsible person must have a firm understanding of fire door checks and maintenance, whilst also raising staff awareness on the importance of fire door safety.

For this, ongoing education is key.

Prevent and protect

In order to retain the integrity of a fire door and its components, healthcare estates must consider how accurate specification, professional installation and ongoing maintenance can help to reduce common hazards and the possibility of danger before it surfaces.

Routine fire door checks can save lives and should form the agenda of anyone responsible for fire safety management.

They consist of reviewing the specification, installation, condition and certification of:

  • The door furniture
  • The hinges
  • Locks and latches
  • Door closers
  • Hold open devices
  • Signage
  • Exit devices
  • Door seals
  • The gaps around the door (3mm is recommended for fire doors)

When performing a closing action, a fire door calls upon each of these components and as such, not one element can fail in the event of a fire.

To meet the necessary standards, the complete fire doorset must pass a series of standardised tests in the form of UKCA and CE certifications, which healthcare officials can identify - alongside a fire door’s FD ratings - by reviewing the label, usually found on the top edge of the door.

Correct specification is essential to long-term performance too.

For high-use areas in large hospitals, for example, electromagnetic hold-open devices are a more appropriate choice and allow fire doors to close once a fire alarm is activated, automatically releasing the door in a safe and controlled manner.

In smaller, slower-paced settings, cam-action closers with slide arms can fulfil fire door regulations whilst providing ease of operation and accessibility for vulnerable users who may otherwise struggle with heavy doors.

Regardless of size, layout and the building’s needs, all healthcare facilities must look to inherit a regular maintenance plan for their fire doors and emergency exit routes.

In doing so, teams can highlight any early signs that a fire door is not performing as it’s required to, which can help prevent irreparable damage to the door and its hardware - saving the need for replacements and reducing costs for establishments managing budget restraints.

When a fire door and its hardware is no longer compliant, teams must ensure repairs and replacements are made quickly and at a professional standard.

Fire door safety is an ongoing responsibility for healthcare management teams and requires comprehensive planning and regular action.

Where patient safety remains the primary focus, a proactive approach is necessary.

As such, healthcare officials are urged to pay close attention to their estate’s fire door safety measures, because although fire is unpredictable, it is in most cases preventable.

Boreham Motorworks Unveils the Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition: The Purest Ford Escort Mk1 Continuation Yet

Boreham Motorworks is proud to unveil the brand-new Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition: a toolroom continuation of one of the most dominant touring cars of all time, the Alan Mann Racing Ford Escort Mk1.

Engineered and crafted to the exact specifications of the British Saloon Car Championship-winning original, this ultra exclusive continuation model embodies the pioneering engineering, unrelenting performance, and motorsport pedigree that defined Alan Mann Racing’s golden era.

Every detail of the Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition has been obsessively re-created to modern tolerances, while staying true to the design of the original bespoke race car which itself differed massively from the Escort Mk1 road car of the era.

From its lightweight construction and wide bubble arches to a unique suspension layout, every element has been engineered to deliver the same dynamic performance that made the original a dominant force on the racetrack.

The Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition is the first car to be released in our ‘Ultra Series’.

Boreham Motorworks offers three distinct vehicle series, each crafted with precision and authenticity.

The Collector Series including the Ford Escort Mk1 RS and the Ford RS200, reimagine classic icons for the road, blending period-correct aesthetics with modern engineering, updated styling, and advanced manufacturing - built from the ground up, brand new with Ford-certified chassis numbers.

The Race Series strips back weight, boosts power, and optimises performance of the Collector Series, delivering track-focused machines uncompromised by road regulations, designed purely for lap times.

The Ultra Series represents the pinnacle of historical accuracy, with blueprint-precise recreations built to period specifications - some road-legal, others FIA-certified for competition - ensuring an unfiltered connection to motorsport heritage.

Our Ultra Series vehicles, are our most exclusive production series, introduced with the Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition of just 24 units. The 68 Edition is the culmination of Boreham Motorworks commitment to encourage our clients to go racing.

The 24 owners will be invited to attend a series of race events and race licence training (if required), fully supported by their dedicated pit crew from Alan Mann Racing.

These events can be based in both in the UK and internationally, they can include private Boreham High Performance Club events and established historic racing events.

Engineered with Performance and Authenticity in Mind

The Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition was born from the intensive engineering development behind Boreham Motorworks road-going Escort Mk1 RS, first announced and revealed in December 2024.

As the team worked to reimagine the Mk1 RS for a new era, they recognised an opportunity to bring a toolroom continuation race car to market ahead of its road going sibling.

By leveraging their deep understanding of the original competition car and the advanced engineering already in progress, Boreham Motorworks has been able to deliver the Alan Mann 68 Edition - an exact recreation of the motorsport icon while the road-going Escort Mk1 RS undergoes final development ahead of its public debut this summer.

While both the Ford Escort Mk1 RS and the Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition share the same body panel design as the original 1968 race car, including the distinctive bubble arches, that’s where the similarities end.

The Mk1 RS is a modern, performance focussed, road-going interpretation of the classic Escort Mk1 RS, blending heritage with modern refinement, technology, and real-world road performance.

In contrast, the Alan Mann 68 Edition is an extreme, no-compromise race car - an identical collector’s copy of the original Alan Mann Racing machine, built to its exact specifications in every detail.

Every component, from its lightweight construction to its race-spec drivetrain and unique suspension, is engineered for competition, delivering an unfiltered and raw driving experience that transports its driver straight back to the golden era of British Saloon Car Racing.

To ensure total authenticity, at the DRVN Advanced Engineering Centre in Coventry, Boreham Motorworks meticulously disassembled and scanned every component of the Alan Mann Racing Escort Mk1 that dominated the 1968 championship, to reverse engineer this icon and create an exact CAD model.

That car (Chassis Number- BB48HR39279; Alan Mann Racing Number - AMR4), was driven by Frank Gardner, and became affectionately recognised by fans across the world by its registration number XOO 349F, likely the most valuable Ford Escort in the world.

Manufacture and assembly is managed entirely in-house, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and quality. DRVN Advanced Engineering in Coventry has led the initial CAD scanning and product development, digitally mapping every component to guarantee absolute precision.

Production then moves to DRVN’s facilities in Newton Aycliffe, where expert craftsmen manufacture the body and paint each car to exacting standards.

Final assembly and dynamic setup take place at Alan Mann Racing HQ in Chobham, Surrey - just a few miles from Alan Mann Racing’s original Byfleet workshop, where the first Group 5 Escorts were built in the 1960s.

This seamless integration of modern engineering and heritage craftsmanship ensures that every Alan Mann 68 Edition is a true masterpiece, built with the same passion and attention to detail that defined the original race-winning cars.

Every component is manufactured using state-of-the-art tooling while remaining faithful to the hand-built techniques of the past. The manufacturing process utilises brand-new, modern jigs and fixtures to guarantee modern precision.

The Championship-Winning Icon, Reborn

At the heart of the Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition sits a 205PS 1.8-litre Twin Cam engine, developed to FIA historic regulations to deliver an authentic period-correct racing experience.

This power unit is paired with a four-speed bullet gearbox, ensuring precise, mechanical shifts that echo the raw engagement of the original competition car.

With a dry weight from just 795kg, the Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition achieves an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, resulting in razor-sharp responsiveness, rapid acceleration, and the kind of dynamic agility that makes driving this car engaging, predictable and fun.

The suspension of the Alan Mann 68 Edition is a true testament to the ingenuity and engineering prowess that defined Alan Mann Racing’s success on the track.

When Alan Mann was first given six chassis by Ford Motor Company and tasked with transforming the Mk1 Escort into a dominant touring car, Alan Mann turned to Len Bailey - one of Ford’s most respected chassis engineers, known for his work on the legendary GT40 programme.

Bailey was seconded to Alan Mann Racing and brought a wealth of motorsport expertise to the project, incorporating advanced suspension concepts directly inspired by endurance racing.

The original Alan Mann Racing Escorts were built to FIA Group 5 regulations, a category that provided significant freedom to refine chassis and suspension design.

Drawing on their extensive experience running Ford GT40 sportscars, Alan Mann Racing integrated key elements of that car’s technology into the front suspension of the Escort programme.

This included the upper MacPherson strut bearing mount, compression strut-to-body mount, and an inverted outer track control arm mounting - each designed by Len Bailey.

These critical components were hand-fabricated by Jim Rose, one of Alan Man Racing’s lead technicians at the time.

Today, nearly 60 years later, all those same unique components are once again revived in the Alan Mann 68 Edition and incredibly, Jim Rose has once again applied his expertise, crafting its unique suspension components with the same precision and craftsmanship as the originals he worked on, all those years ago.

That unique sliding joint MacPherson strut is paired with KONI 2-way adjustable coil-over dampers for precision handling.

A front anti-roll bar and the compression struts enhance stability, while the custom strut top mounts and compression strut mounts provide additional rigidity.

Adjustable, rose-jointed lower arms allow for fine-tuned suspension geometry, optimising performance for historic racing competition.

At the rear, the car utilises a rigid axle with a distinctive Watts linkage mounted under the differential case nose.

This configuration, along with longitudinal forward links, torsion bars, and vertical dampers, ensures exceptional rear-end control, allowing the Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition to harness its power effectively and maintain outstanding grip through high-speed corners.

The braking system consists of solid discs with a 254mm x 10mm diameter at the front, paired with a P16 calliper, and solid discs measuring 245mm x 10mm at the rear, using a Girling NR series calliper with a parking brake.

The wheels are period-correct Electron magnesium-style, now in flow-formed aluminium, with 13" x 8" front wheels and 475/1000x13" tyres, and 13" x 9" rear wheels with 475/1150x13" tyres.

The Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition design brings back the iconic bubble arches and the instantly recognisable red and gold livery, paying homage to the legendary Alan Mann Racing Mk1 Escort.

Originally developed by Alan Mann Racing to accommodate the wide wheels and unique suspension, Group 5 allowed for up to 10-inch rear wheels and up to 8.5-inch front wheels.

To allow for the larger wheels, the bespoke bubble arches were crafted by lead technician Peter Bohanna.

This widened stance not only significantly boosted its grip and handling, but it enhanced the car’s aesthetic appeal, a styling cue that launched thousands of copycats over the years, making it as visually striking as it was technically advanced.

The combination of these signature design elements created a racing machine that left a lasting impression on motorsport history.

An Exclusive Opportunity to Own a Motorsport Icon

The Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition will be made available in two specifications, Period Correct or Modern Race:

  • Period Correct – A true collector's item, the lightest possible configuration, built precisely to FIA Group 5 regulations, offering an unfiltered connection to one of Ford’s most celebrated racing cars, exactly as the original XOO 349F sits today, after it finished racing with Alan Mann at the end of 1969.
  • Modern Race – With an FIA Technical Passport, incorporating modern safety features including a full roll cage, FIA-approved seats, harnesses, and a plumbed-in fire extinguisher—eligible for historic racing worldwide.
Only 24 Alan Mann 68 Edition models will ever be produced, ensuring absolute exclusivity. This is not simply a limited-edition model; it is a painstakingly accurate continuation of a motorsport masterpiece, offering collectors and historic racing enthusiasts a chance to experience and own one of the most celebrated touring cars in history.

Henry Mann, Managing Director of Alan Mann Racing, remarked:

“My father always believed that the key to success in motorsport was an unrelenting pursuit of precision engineering, innovation and the constant obsession of lightweight solutions.

“The Alan Mann 68 Edition is a testament to that philosophy, capturing the spirit of the original in every detail.

“To bring this car back to life is a privilege—and one we have undertaken with the utmost respect for its heritage.”

The Next Chapter of Alan Mann Racing & Ford Motor Company

In 1968, Alan Mann Racing cemented its place in history by transforming the humble Ford Escort Mk1 into a dominant force in the world of motorsport.

Under the expert guidance of Alan Mann, the Alan Mann Racing Escort Mk1 dominated the British Saloon Car Championship in 1968 and 1969 on behalf of Ford Motor Company.

Six decades later, the Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition forges the next chapter in the story of Alan Mann Racing as all 24 examples are marked with official continuation chassis numbers.

Iain Muir, DRVN Group CEO, comments:

“Reviving the Ford Escort Alan Mann 68 Edition is more than just bringing back a car; it’s about celebrating a legacy of innovation and motorsport excellence that continues to inspire generations.

“This project exemplifies Boreham Motorworks’ commitment to craftsmanship and authenticity, ensuring the spirit of this legendary race car lives on both in competition and in the hearts of enthusiasts.”

ERA adds all-new stylish finish to revolutionary TouchKey range

ERA, one of the UK’s leading home security and fenestration component providers, is launching its popular smart door security solution, TouchKey, in an all-new Architectural Black finish.

Already available in stylish Chrome and Graphite, TouchKey combines a smarter security door handle, an auto-firing multi-point lock, and an anti-bump security cylinder for maximum customer convenience and peace of mind.

While the Architectural Black finish is new to the TouchKey range, the solution boasts all the same benefits of the original and remains the only system of its kind to combine five different entry methods into a single door handle.

Providing multi-factor authentication for residential door access, TouchKey, which is suitable for fabrication with composite and timber entrance doors, offers access via fingerprint, the ERA Smart Home app, geolocation technology, voice command, and manual key override.

Featuring advanced biometric fingerprint technology, up to 50 different fingerprints can be stored directly within the handle to provide users with instant access to a property.

When used with the ERA Smart Home app, TouchKey can be unlocked with a single touch locally, or remotely using the TouchKey Communications Module and the addition of an ERA Smart Hub. Digital e-keys with timed access can also be assigned to individuals, such as family, friends, and service providers, via the app.

Voice command can also be used via the ERA Smart Home app to unlock the door on approach, without having to physically reach for a smartphone.

Geolocation technology allows the system to unlock remotely via Bluetooth for trusted users, once in range of the property, again without needing to physically use a smartphone.

For ultimate peace of mind, TouchKey also contains a hidden manual key override, with three keys supplied as standard.

TouchKey combines dynamic smart technology with industry-leading mechanical hardware, delivering both convenience and security. Its two hook multi-point lock has a central deadbolt that fires six locking points when engaged, automatically securing the door upon closing.

The anti-bump cylinder works in conjunction with the smarter handle and multi-point lock for ease of application and resistance against forced entry. Additionally, for extra endurance, the handle’s forged steel backplate and hardened plates prevent potential intruders from removing it to manipulate the lock.

For easy operation, an ergonomically designed extended thumbturn with light torque ensures that all locking points are simultaneously retracted. With this, upon leaving the property, the door closes automatically and locks behind the user.

TouchKey has been independently tested to BSI’s Smart Residential Locking Device standard. Developed in conjunction with ERA, the standard combines the BSI Internet of Things (IoT) Kitemark with TS 621 for mechanical security with smart locking.

Delivering on aesthetics, TouchKey, complements a wide range of door hardware including hinges, letterplates and knockers.

For further information on ERA’s portfolio of smart security solutions, visit eraeverywhere.com or contact the sales team on 01922 490 000 or email info@eraeverywhere.com.

DHF urges caution following gate accident and subsequent prosecution

DHF (Door & Hardware Federation) has learned of the prosecution of a Kent-based gate company following a serious incident in February 2022 that left a lady with life changing injuries.

In 2020, Pallet Handling Penshurst Limited (PHPL), originally trading as Chase Fencing of Tonbridge, installed an automated sliding gate system at a private residential property. However, the installation was found to be unsafe.

According to Trading Standards, the gate came off its guides and fell to the ground on two separate occasions. Despite PHPL returning to the address after the first incident in 2021, the mechanism failed once more. In February 2022, during the second incident, the 400kg gate fell and crushed the homeowner to the ground, causing life-altering injuries.

Both PHPL and subcontractor Derek Havill, of Harris Road, Sheerness, pleaded guilty to breaches of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 (SMSR 2008). PHPL received a £30,000 fine and was ordered to pay £14,000 in legal costs. Derek Havill was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and required to pay £3,600 in costs.
“DHF was asked to assess the gate in question shortly following the incident and discovered a catalogue of safety and compliance deficiencies, the worst being defective travel stops,” explains DHF’s Senior Training & Compliance Officer, Nick Perkins.
“The installation company had utilised a simple guide roller (intended only to keep the gate aligned) as a travel stop which proved wholly ineffective and completely inadequate.”
Sliding gates with no (or ineffective) travel stops are the most common cause of death, injury and criminal prosecution in the gate automation industry.

A sliding gate should have purpose designed and installed physical travel stops to completely prevent derailment in normal use, when there is a fault with a limit switch, and when the gate is being moved manually.

The SMSR require that machinery is designed to prevent harm to people both when used as intended and when subject to any foreseeable misuse.
“Travel stops must be very robust,” continues Nick. “They need to be able to stop the gate in its tracks when being driven under power or when being moved manually by a user; the latter being when the stop is likely to be subject to the greatest load.”
DHF guidance in the form of training and a Code of Practice (TS 013-1:2025), provides information on all aspects of powered gate safety and legal compliance. Compliance with SMSR 2008 means:
  • conducting and recording a detailed compliance and residual risk assessment;

  • meeting the essential Health and Safety Requirements of the SMSR, at a level of safety that meets or exceeds that described by EN 12453:2017+A1:2021 ( EN 12453 is listed by the UK Government as a designated standard under SMSR, it refers to EN 12604 for structural integrity);

  • providing a formal Declaration of Conformity with SMSR 2008 and all other applicable product safety legislation, conformity marking under SMSR 2008 (CE or UKCA);

  • providing precise user and maintenance instructions, and assembling and retaining a technical file detailing how the above steps were achieved for at least 10 years.
The requirements of EN 12453 & 12604 have not altered significantly regarding travel stop provision since the first publication in 2000; the requirements are not new!
“DHF urges all manufacturers, installers, maintainers and owners of sliding gates, whether powered or manual, to ensure that physical travel stops are in place, are effective, and cannot fail under all foreseeable loads,” concludes Nick.

Don’t Do a Dave! It’s Time to Lock FIT Show 2025 in Your Calendar!

It’s that time again - FIT Show is back! You could be forgiven for thinking there won't be much new to see when FIT Show returns to the NEC from 29 April - 1 May. It’s only been a couple of years since the last show after all. It’ll be the same old brands, same old products.

Might as well wait until the next one. Wrong!

We get it, you might be like Dave. He’s still catching up on jobs from last year and has enough leads to see him well into 2026.

Maybe you’ve been so busy chasing leads that you can’t even think about taking time off the tools to visit FIT Show 2025.

Dave doesn’t realise that if he doesn’t visit FIT Show 2025, he’ll have to wait another two years until the next show in 2027.

Dave mustn’t have heard that almost 30% of the exhibitors at FIT Show 2025 are brands from overseas, over 20 different countries in fact.

Dave won’t get to see the latest products and innovations literally from across the world. He probably doesn’t know 48% of the exhibitors this year have never exhibited at FIT Show before either.

He also doesn’t know that he’ll be missing out on all of the exclusive product launches, show offers and discounts that exhibitors are offering for FIT Show 2025 visitors too.

And we’re pretty sure that Dave won’t realise that as well as turning his back on the chance to see the latest windows, doors, glass, hardware and components, he’s also missing out on more outdoor living products such as decking, fencing, awnings and garden rooms that will be on display, as well as an increased focus on roofing solutions.

Dave mustn't have heard about the Installer Demo Zone which will include live product demos from the likes of Made for Trade, ALUK, Bereco, SmartSystems and Brett Martin.

Dave won’t be able to receive training and support on how to install the latest products on the market, as well as speak directly to the people who manufacture and supply them at FIT Show.

He’ll also miss the BRAND NEW Installer Marketplace with tools, products and tech to help installers.

By missing FIT Show 2025 Dave is also turning his back on over 30 hours of CPD certified learning content delivered by industry experts, with technical and regulatory content delivered by GGF and FENSA.

He mustn’t want to know more about how to better market his business and drive more leads. That’s one more space in the seminar theatre for installers who do want to do better business!

He’ll be saying goodbye to sessions like these:

  • Lock It Down: Protecting Your Tools and Livelihood
    Speakers:
Alice Lester Brookes, Senior Brand and PR Manager at On The Tools, Shoaib Awan, AKA 'The Gas Expert', founder of Trades United
Description: This session explores practical tips and strategies to prevent tool theft, from site security to marking equipment.
  • State of nation: Behind the data
    Speakers:
Elton Boocock, Managing Director, Business Pilot & Tom Butler, Head of Sales & Marketing, GGF
Description: Presents curated data to provide insights into the glass and glazing market, focusing on future consumer trends and market demands.
  • Are you ready for the Future Home Standards?
    Speaker:
Kevin Jones, Senior Technical Officer, GGF
Description: Offers practical guidance on upcoming changes to ensure businesses are equipped to navigate the transition.
  • The Future of Training and Competence in the Glass and Glazing Sector
    Speaker:
    John Mannell, GGF
Description: Showcases a bespoke course on the new GGF Training online learning platform, highlighting its capabilities for skill development.
  • Entrepreneurs and Leadership in the Industry
    Moderated by:
    Robin Clevett
Description: A panel discussion offering advice on achieving business success and entrepreneurial perspectives from industry leaders.
  • Fabricators and Installers Under Fire: Cybersecurity Threats & Your Bottom Line
    Speaker:
Greg Du Feu, Managing Director, Du Feu IT
Description: Addresses rising cyber threats facing fabricators, focusing on real-world impacts like downtime and lost revenue.
  • Digital Transformation and AI: Moving Beyond the Hype to Practical Tools
    Speaker:
    Elton Boocock, Business Pilot
Description: Explores how digital tools can streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance project management.
  • Discovering the latest colour and texture trends to stay ahead of the curve
    Speaker:
Leon James, Product Manager, RENOLIT UK
Description: Provides insights into current market trends and future color demands, exploring popular colors and textures.

Dave mustn’t want to see four halls of brands showcasing products, materials, smart tech, software and services than ever before.

He mustn’t be looking to bolster his business, broaden his portfolio and secure his pipeline for the next two years.

Dave’s passing up on the chance to see brands like Supalite Tiled Roof Systems, Bereco, Clayton Glass, Hegla, SawStop, FOREL, Invisifold, Noton Blinds, Blakely Construction, Victorian Sliders, Kean Tools, Quickslide, Novoferm, SWS and Emmegi who have all joined the lineup in the last couple of weeks.

That’s on top of the 150+ other brands who have already secured their spot on the floorplan.

Perhaps he’s not a fan of networking, or hearing first hand advice and support from other people in his industry.

He also mustn’t be bothered about industry experts like Robin Clevett, a leading carpentry and building expert with over 113,000 YouTube subscribers who will be sharing hands-on demonstrations, expert advice on material selection, and tips on the latest installation techniques.

And he probably doesn’t realise that the show is open until 8pm on Wednesday 30th April meaning he could keep on top of his jobs during the day and still have time to visit for the late night opening.

He won’t be at the PiG’s party, that’s for sure. Or that it’s completely FREE to attend - we won’t tell him that!

If you’ve not got the biggest business days of 2025 locked in your calendar, what are you waiting for?

Can you afford to wait that long to secure new leads, speak to suppliers, see the latest products and innovations and stay abreast of legislative and regulatory changes?

Don’t do a Dave. Be more like Gary. Gary’s going. Miss FIT Show 2025 and miss out. Get this job locked in your books today, register for your FREE ticket at www.fitshow.co.uk.
