DHF adds to its training portfolio with Emergency First Aid at Work Course

Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) has announced that it will be adding to its training portfolio with an Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course. Taking place from Monday 12th July at DHF’s training academy near Tamworth, the course will cover such topics as actions in an emergency, resuscitation and CPR, the use of AED’s (automated external defibrillator), wounds and seizures.

Costing £100 plus VAT for DHF members and £135 plus VAT for non-members, learners will gain essential knowledge to save lives by offering immediate assistance in the event of an incident. The price of the course includes a first aid book, first aid accessories, lunch and refreshments. The course is a Level 3 qualification and complies with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and HSE guidance.

DHF’s Head of Commercial Operations, Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens says:
“We are delighted to be adding to our training portfolio with our Emergency First Aid at Work course. An accident can occur at any time. Completing a first aid at work course increases confidence and safety, can reduce recovery time and is great for company moral and team building.
It can also help keep employees safe outside of work, as staff members will have these skills for life. In short, first aid training saves lives.”
DHF has continued to deliver its training offering throughout the pandemic with a combination of face-to-face teaching and via its ‘Distance Learning Programme’ (DLP).

In April it announced the return of its face-to-face training at Tamworth. Since April, the proactive federation has trained nearly 300 people in its Automated Gate & Traffic Barrier, and Industrial & Garage Door training courses, 22% of these have been delivered online. In addition, the organisation will very shortly be launching its new training website to help learners, for example, book refresher courses.

Patricia explains:
“Training remains the backbone of what we do at DHF, over the course of the past year we have worked tirelessly to continue to provide a seamless and highly effective service and to ensure that putting safe and compliant products on the market is a priority.

Although the country experienced 30 weeks of ‘lockdown’ over the past year, DHF was open for 50 out of 52 weeks, to serve our members and deliver training. This is our enduring commitment.”
