Huge Success for Garador's Charity Campaign

Garador’s innovative social media campaign to raise money for charity has proved an outstanding success.

In the run-up to Christmas, Britain’s leading garage door manufacturer wanted to raise money for the major charity Crisis which helps homeless people and asked their nationwide network of garage door installers to send through pictures of their recent installations. For each picture it shared on social media, a £10 donation was made to Crisis.

Stockport’s Carrington Doors added a fresh look to a classical
design with Garador’s glazed Up and Over in Chartwell Green.

Garador’s Managing Director, Neil Discombe said:

“We were absolutely thrilled by the response from our network of stockists and installers. Thanks to their wonderful generosity, we have raised £300 for homeless charity Crisis.”

The pictures sent in also showed the huge range of garage doors now being installed across the country. The continued popularity of Garador up & over and sectional garage doors was quite apparent, with a variety of shots showing their versatility in terms of designs, sizes, materials and colours. Whilst white is still a favourite amongst homeowners, it is interesting to see how Britain is beginning to colour up its residential areas.

sectional garage doors installed in the Dorset countryside.

 Neil continues:

“We loved how the pictures showed the breadth of colours and materials we offer, with naturally beautiful timber doors, but also more striking steel door colours like Anthracite Grey and Chartwell Green.”
Windows in garages also featured strongly, a trend probably enhanced by people now using garages for storage, exercise and even home offices, as homeowners seek to personalise their door to suit their requirements.

Extra wide garage doors are now a major feature in modern builds. The
Garage Door Worshop in Bedfordshire  recently installed this stand out
 wooden double Garador door.

With homelessness continuing to rise in the UK, Crisis perform a vital role in supporting homeless people. They provide education, employment, housing and well-being services and work side-by-side with thousands of people to help them leave behind homelessness. The team at Garador were pleased to support such a worthwhile cause.

Severn Garage Doors services added a really stylish new
look with an extra-wide version of Garador’s
Linear Large Sectional door.

New Heights

While this charity campaign brought in several pictures which highlighted Garador’s extensive collection of door models and sizes, there were also references to Garador’s range of taller 6’8’’ and 7’2’’ standard door heights on its Carlton and Horizon up and over garage doors.

The idea of taller 6’8” and 7’2” garage doors makes sense for many new builds where standard imperial size 6’6” and 7’0” garage door heights don’t always match standard openings.

Garador’s 6’8” and 7’2” garage door heights, which include a 6mm fitting tolerance, offer a perfect fit for more common standard brickwork opening sizes. This means there is no need for uPVC cladding, saving both time and materials.

The new 6’8” door heights in the range can be supplied with either canopy or retractable lifting gear, whilst the 7’2” door heights are available with retractable lifting gear only.
