Architectural Hardware Innovator moves into New Rainham HQ

London Architectural Hardware, a leading ironmongery supplier renowned for its involvement in the refurbishment of St Paul’s Cathedral, has marked a significant milestone in its journey by expanding into its new Rainham HQ.

The company specialises in providing architectural furnishings, such as door handles, locks, toilet roll holders, and soap dispenser holders.

Dedicated to enhancing the aesthetics and functionality of properties, London Architectural Hardware has solidified its reputation in the property industry by providing an array of meticulously crafted hardware pieces – from historic recreations for heritage buildings to cutting-edge new locking systems.

Notably, the company's selection of door handles, often underestimated in their importance, play an essential role in shaping first impressions, providing a potential edge to property companies searching for customers.

Its Commercial Director, Daniel Blackwell, explains:

“The property industry is cut-throat - there is huge competition, so to stand out, you need to excel in what you do.

“What we do is provide the small details which make the big difference - take the door handle, you don’t think about it much, but you interact with it every day and it's your first physical interaction before entering any building or room.”

It's that extra value which has allowed London Architectural Hardware to expand into its new base in Rainham's Thamesview Business Park, having moved from its previous headquarters in Hockley.

Blackwell said:

“Rainham was always the natural choice; it has a rich manufacturing history, has fantastic facilities for what I need to do, and provides great access to the London and wider southeast markets,”

Blackwell is also looking to recruit a new member of staff into his team as he expands his company’s operation.

He is looking for an enthusiastic and driven person to join - someone who is passionate about property interiors and providing world-class service.

Speaking about his own background, Blackwell says:

“When I started as an apprentice, I would have never dreamt of expanding my business like this and becoming the supplier of choice for St Paul’s Cathedral and big property names like L&Q, Multiplex and Telford Homes.”

In the case of St Paul’s Cathedral, London Architectural Hardware played a pivotal role in providing new ironmongery components during the restoration of its original doors and frames.

Blackwell commented:

“Our objective was to seamlessly blend the Cathedral’s iconic design essence with contemporary British quality standards.

“This ensured that the structure complied with fire regulations and could endure the substantial influx of tourists visiting from around the world each year.”

The company's new office space showcases framed snapshots of their diverse projects, a testament to the trajectory from apprentice to industry leader.

Blackwell attributes his triumph to unwavering self-confidence, relentless determination, and the invaluable support of mentors who guided him along his transformative journey.
