Leading access and security solutions provider dormakaba has released a new CPD on the requirements for Door Hardware on Fire Doors.
The seminar discusses the latest legal requirements, the types of Certification for Fire Door Hardware and the correct application for fire Doors. The launch of this new CPD falls in line with Fire Door Safety week, taking place from 24th-30th September.
Those who complete the seminar will benefit from a comprehensive insight into what to consider when selecting fire door closures. This includes the latest updates to CE Marking, the necessary classification codes, the importance of a Declaration of Performance (DoP) and the detailed requirements listed in Approved Document B in order to meet Regulation 7 of the Building Regulations 2010 (SI 2000/2214) for England and Wales.
The seminar also outlines the detrimental impact of incorrect hardware selection and looks into all aspects of fire door safety including hinges, locks, push pads and signage, which are all equally important in the respect of fire door compliance.
The new CPD can also be completed in the dormakaba mobile showroom, a customised vehicle housing twenty-two fully operable doors installed with a variety of door closures, automatic operators and panic hardware. The showbus includes an LCD screen to provide an interior suitable for hands-on training.
