Jaguar Restoration Projects go Under the Hammer at Silverstone British Marques Sale

1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I FHC 2+2

A number of Jaguar restoration projects are set to be auctioned at the British Marques sale in association with the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club at Heythrop Park on the 11th May.

E-types, XK150s and XK120s in varying conditions are being offered to new homes and these cars come with some wonderful history.

The 1966 Series 1 FHC 2+2 E-type is quite incredible as it has had just one owner from September 1967. Cherished and used up to 1980 this E-type then spent the remaining 38 years in a garage prior to coming out for auction.

In need of some restoration, this matching numbers example is supplied with a fantastic history folder, a Heritage Trust Certificate, plus factory manuals, original buff logbook and purchase invoice. A great opportunity, estimated at £30,000 to £35,000.

1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster

A matching numbers 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster has surfaced after returning from Hong Kong where it was delivered. The former custodian of the car for 36 years, had it dismantled and shipped back to the UK and put in dry storage.

It was subsequently then sold on to the current vendor, who planned to restore the car, but due to more pressing projects, is now offering the car for sale. All parts are documented with an impressive inventory and an unwarranted 22,631 miles which could well be correct. This right-hand drive car would make an exciting project estimated at £50,000 to £70,000.

1959 Jaguar XK150 'S' 3.4-Litre Coupe Project

There are very few Jaguar XK150 ‘S’ available, this is one of 86 coupes in right-hand drive with a manual gearbox, overdrive and a 3.8 litre engine. With matching numbers and in need of returning the car to its former glory having been in storage since 1975, this is a wonderful opportunity to restore this highly original Jaguar to the road. Estimated at £45,000 to £55,000 it comes with a Heritage Certificate and it last valid tax disc, December 1975, still on the windscreen.

In 1948 Jaguar launched the XK120 at the Earls Court Motor Show with 194 right-hand drive fixed head coupes being made. This particular car is #111 and presented in British Racing Green, we understand that only 24 were made in this colour, making this a very rare colour choice.

This matching numbers car was discovered in Denmark by the vendor and recently returned to the UK to be restored. Estimated at £35,000 to £45,000 this is probably one of the last unrestored examples left.

1954 Jaguar XK120 FHC

Arwel Richards, Auction Manager for the Heythrop sale commented:
"Jaguars are always a popular choice of car and in our British Marques sale we have quite a choice including these restoration projects.”
“The XK120 is of significant interest, bearing in mind in could be one of the last unrestored examples.”
“We are looking forward to a great day of sales, as we have the Heythrop Classic Car Sale first, followed by the British Marques Sale in association with the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club later on the same day.”

The Heythrop and British Marques sale is a one day sale with viewing of the lots on Friday 10th May from 09:00 until 17:00 and on the morning of Saturday 11th May 2019.

The auction will take place on the 11th May starting with the Automobilia at 10:30 followed by the Heythrop Classic Car sale at 12:30 and finally the British Marques at 14:00
