New Bft E5 Compact Operator offers Host of Benefits for Installers and Users

Installers have always faced the challenge of installing gate motors in confined spaces. When fitting a pedestrian gate, there is often limited space in which to work – potentially making an installation time consuming and technically demanding.

The new E5 compact gate operator from Bft Automation offers a solution to the problem. The operator is not only small but has an optional slide lever attachment designed for installations where there is extremely limited space for manoeuvre, meaning that just 8cm of the pillar are needed for installation. What’s more, improved fixing points and a simple ‘hook and fasten’ process means assembly is safe, quick and straight forward.

The E5 for pedestrian gates offers a number of features for safety and practical use. It features automatic opening for easier entry – both remotely and in-situ. It offers various modes for automatic opening including with photocells, via a smartphone app, remote control, key code, door phone or the new ‘push and go’ function.

The E5 has the fastest opening and closing speed in its category from 4.5 - 6.5 seconds, depending on the weight and length of the gate leaf. There is also an option to set automatic gate closing – you never need have a gate left open again!

To maintain security in locations such as schools, police stations or hospitals, there is an option to limit entry to authorised personnel with access control.

The E5 is equipped with an absolute encoder providing safe and precise movement for the gate. It is also equipped with D-Track, BFT’s intelligent torque management system which means the gate’s level of torque is constantly updated; this helps to compensate for climatic conditions and the degree of wear and tear to ensure the best performance.
