The Autumn / Winter Issue of Door Industry Journal is available online now!

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Autumn / Winter 2022 issue of Door Industry Journal, the Voice of the UK Door and Gate Industry.

The last time I wrote to you – to introduce the Summer issue – I was positively sweltering on the hottest day of the year, with the mercury topping 40°c. Today it’s rather cooler at around 7°c. What a difference a few months make.

And what a year we’ve all had!

Despite the tricky trading conditions for business, our industry is holding up remarkably well.

As proof of that, dig into this bumper issue of the DIJ to read some good news stories from across the sector.

Here’s a selection of what’s in store:

  • Read about the new partnership between Ellard and Marantec (p 6)
  • Peter Ashworth, of ASSA ABLOY, argues for a move from compliance to leadership in building safety (p 10)
  • Find out about the SBD’s new ‘Secure Connected Device’ accreditation, for companies providing Internet of Things (IoT) connected products (p 26)
  • A colourful charity day for a team from Garador (p 42)
  • Aluroll has teamed up with WISNIOWSKI for sectional and side-hinged doors (p 54)
  • Find out about mydocking’s new and improved online shop for spare parts (p 80)
  • The DHF reveals the seven deadly sins of automated gates (p 92)
  • How Hörmann is protecting the Edinburgh Fringe, with Oktablock mobile vehicle blockers (p 96)
  • Strongdor has joined with Crime Prevention Police Officers to discuss the role of steel doors in crime reduction (p 120)
  • Briton celebrates 115 years in the business (p 128)
  • Take a break with some fun stuff (p 129)

There’s plenty more going on in this issue, so treat yourself to a mince pie and get reading!

Christmas is around the corner and I’m sure you’re looking forward to some well-deserved downtime. I hope you have an enjoyable break and thanks for your support throughout the year.

I’ll be back with you again come springtime.
