Payatrader solve the challenge to deliver an affordable mobile Chip & Pin terminal for the UK's millions of small businesses and home services traders

Payatrader.com has announced the general release of the UK’s first pocket sized, standalone card processing terminal with electronic receipting - specifically designed for home services traders and small businesses.

Not much bigger than a pocket calculator, the PayMate terminal is set to become the tool of choice for small businesses on the move allowing them to take immediate card payment, thereby avoiding non-guaranteed, delayed and cheques lost in the post.

Bill Thomson, MD and co-founder of Payatrader.com commented:
“Payatrader was first conceived and developed to sustainably address the gap in the market for a “low cost, no financial commitment” card acceptance service, where small traders could take card payments on a Pay As You Go basis without the worry of monthly and minimum usage charges. Our design, development and introduction of the new PayMate pocket Chip & Pin terminal provides a natural extension to our successful “terminal free” proposition, and enables Payatrader to offer full multi-channel choice for card acceptance – giving small businesses rich payment functionality that is fit for large merchants”.

The terminal is a fully accredited, secure chip & pin device with immediate authorisation and cardholder authentication.

Adding a PayMate Chip & Pin terminal into the trader tool kit makes strong commercial sense; not only does it mean payment can be taken straightaway, which is good for cash flow, it means traders have a dedicated payment device which closely matches the existing cardholder experience, avoids Bluetooth pairing with other mobile devices and avoids cardholder concern about entering their details into someone else’s mobile phone.

Now launched after an initial offer to Payatrader’s existing customer base, demand is expected to be strong.
