Leading door supplier put its best foot forward to raise over £1,000 for children’s charity

Employees from XL Joinery, the market leading supplier of doors and associated products, put their best foot forward as they took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, raising a total of £1,025 for children’s charity, Buttercup Children’s Trust.

Seven employees from Finance, Operations and Marketing departments, as well as three additional family members and friends, took on the challenge of trekking 24 miles across the Yorkshire Three Peaks. Covering Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, staff at XL Joinery reached 1,585m in height, with the aim of completing the course in just eight hours.

Buttercup Children’s Trust raises funds to support children and their families within the UK who suffer from a wide range of life hindering illnesses including leukaemia, cystic fibrosis deafness, blindness and all other serious or terminal illnesses. The children’s charity relies solely on donations and all proceeds raised from XL Joinery’s charity walk went towards the charity.

Jade Damarell, Brand Manager at XL Joinery, commented:
“We’re always looking for new ways in which we can support charities and the Yorkshire Three Peaks was the perfect opportunity! We’re proud to have supported the incredible work that Buttercup Children’s Charity achieve, and we hope that the funds raised will make a difference to the charity.”

Zowie Parkin, Office Manager at Buttercup Children’s Charity, commented:
“We’re delighted to have received support from XL Joinery and their incredible donation will help us to continue to support children who are suffering with serious illnesses. The staff at XL Joinery took on a very admirable challenge and hope that they have fully recovered from the walk!”
