Million Pound Porsche for a Tenth of the Price

Classic car auction disruptor, The Market, will exhibit a Porsche 911 RSR Recreation freshly built to the exacting standards of the Le Mans 24-Hour 1975 car at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery, in the car’s first ever public appearance.

“With original 911 & 934 RSRs reaching seven figure prices today, this exacting recreation is the closest that many can get to a car which evokes the spirit of one of the most desirable Porsches ever built,” comments Tristan Judge, director, The Market.
“The Classic Motor Show is one of the biggest events of the year for us and we’re excited to be back this year, especially so with this incredible RSR Recreation on our stand for show visitors to see up-close and admire.”

Created with impeccable attention to detail, this RSR Recreation was originally an American market 1977 Porsche 911 and has been stripped to a bare shell and meticulously prepared and reassembled with some of the finest components money can buy.

Presented in one of the most evocative racing liveries of the 1970s, based on that used on the 1975 Le Mans 24-Hour Porsche 911 Carrera RSR and the 1976 European GT Championship 934 RSR, the striking green paintwork, coloured stripes and Vaillant sponsorship livery are as immaculate as the millimetre perfect shut lines and panels.

Meanwhile, the interior features a genuine Porsche Momo steering wheel fitted to a quick-release hub, black Alcantara covered dashboard, fully welded roll cage, TRS harness and Cobra Evolution S high-back racing bucket seat.

The RSR Recreation also features a 3.6-litre twin-spark ‘964’ engine which develops in the region of 250-260bhp, RSR-spec coilover suspension, 930 Turbo brakes (as per the RSR), Type 915 gearbox fitted with a Quaife limited-slip differential, and a bespoke exhaust system.

It will be on display for all three days of the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery, (8-10 November) on stand 2-245 and available to buy on The Market’s online auction platform with an estimate of £55,000 to £85,000 from 11th November.

Visitors to The Market’s stand will also be able to watch live online auctions throughout the weekend, as well as discover the value of their own classic car with auction house’s digital Price Trends tool.

Staff will also be on hand to discuss the benefits of buying and selling through the auction house, which include an industry leading sales rate, the most comprehensive lot listings around, and ultra-low fees.
