PYROSEC® SLIMLITE doors maximise fire protection and natural light transmission

The new PYROSEC® SLIMLITE door, a steel-framed fire rated fire door which maximises glazing potential without compromising fire safety.

PYROSEC® SLIMLITE door system from passive fire protection specialist Promat provides an ideal solution for safe, sustainable and healthy buildings thanks to its ability to provide assured levels of fire resistance without compromising light transmission.

The innovative system enables specifiers to meet the brief for doors requiring a fire rating of either EI30 or EI60 (integrity and insulation) without the need to surround the glass with a bulky frame, as is often the case with many glass doors.

Available in a single or double leaf configuration, PYROSEC® SLIMLITE doors are manufactured using all stainless steel 25mm stiles and 90mm rails, which allow the door leaf to sit within a super-slim 20mm frame section.

This minimal framing and sleek back to back full height handles maximises the area of glass in features such as internal screens and partitions to perfectly balance the need for fire protection and light transmission.

When PYROSEC® SLIMLITE is combined with the Promat SYSTEMGLAS® Ferro steel frame fire resistant glazing system, butt jointed glass features can be created with only the slimmest of vertical framing visible around the door.

It is a combination that provides architects and specifiers with a complete glazing solution backed by third party test evidence and Promat’s 360-degree ‘Wheel of Assurance’. This provides complete traceability of the installed product in line with the golden thread.

It is ideal for use where the design seeks to allow daylight to pass through the screen or partition to not only help reduce the need for artificial lighting, but also ensure building users stay visually connected in buildings such as offices, hospitals and schools.

An additional option is also available for fire resistant glass doors where the glazing feature height or width is such that an over-panel or side-light is required.

This comes in the form of the Promat PYROSEC® Door, which offers similarly appealing aesthetics and fire performance capability, but with the key difference of featuring a slightly wider 50mm frame section to provide additional structural strength.
