SWS UK Seceuroshield News - Introduction of the new AEG-R Bottom Slat

Introducing the AEG-R, a new bottom slat to replace the current AEG. This will apply to orders received from Monday 18th February.

The improvements being made are:

The handing of the slat can be reversed (patent pending) by simply removing a screw in the end of the slat and sliding the quirk out and refitting the other way arround, so saving having to replace the whole slat if the wrong hand is ordered.

The new lock will be fitted which has already appeared on the Manual SeceuroGlide and the Commercial shutters. At just 6mm thick this new high quality lock is much slimmer than the current one and so is a neater fit in the slat. This means we can supply a back protection plate as standard for better security and a neater appearance. It also has a smoother operation than the one it replaces. It operates slimmer lock bars.

A new design of handle is fitted. These have been chosen for their improved appearance but have the practical benefits that their increased depth means they are less likely work loose if roughly handled. Their standard fixing hole width also means other handles can easily be found to blend with others on site. Shutters over 955mm wide will be supplied with two loose handles, under this size they will be supplied with one handle fitted centrally above the lock.

The Stops have been redesigned for an improved more rounded appearance but are fully interchangeable with the older design.

The bottom slat reinforcing handle has been redesigned with a more attractive rounded profile which now incorporates a slot for a seal which must be ordered if required.
