The revised programme introduces a modular learning format, giving candidates more flexibility in how they complete their training.
The new assessment format now requires a 100% pass mark to demonstrate full competence, with candidates allowed three attempts to achieve this. While still open book, the assessment is designed to reinforce knowledge, encouraging learners to use official standards and ADSA bulletins as reference materials.
“These changes are about ensuring our members don’t just maintain their certification, but truly understand and keep pace with the latest safety and compliance standards,” said Darren Hyde, ADSA’s Technical and Training Manager. “The renewal is now a learning opportunity in itself - not just a tick-box exercise.”
The association is also raising awareness of the new requirements through its latest Tech Talk podcast episode, hosted by Ken Price and featuring insights from Darren Hyde and Andy Tilley, who helped design the updated training and assessment.
The episode outlines:
· How to access the new ADSA Academy platform
· What to expect from the course structure and online test
· Tips for successful completion, including preparing a quiet space and using the correct documents
· Common mistakes learners make and how to avoid them.
“This isn’t about making things harder,” added Training Tutor Andy Tilley. “It’s about making things better, ensuring safety, compliance, and professional credibility are upheld throughout our industry.”
The podcast is available now via the ADSA website and other major platforms: www.adsa.podbean.com/e/episode-6-new-adsa-certification/
