Alluguard Receives Secured By Design Accreditation

The team at Alluguard are proud to announce they have been awarded the Secured by Design (SBD) accreditation. This official flagship initiative from the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) supports the principles of 'designing out crime' through products and applications that are made to the highest specifications in terms of security standards.

Statistics show that developments that use SBD products and processes are half as likely to be burgled, have two times less vehicle crime and show a reduction of 25% in criminal damage. ‘Before and after’ studies on two housing estates showed that crime rates dropped by around 35% and 40% after SBD principles were introduced.

All SBD-accredited products have to undergo rigorous independent testing that measures them against published technical standards to ensure they are made to the highest specification in terms of security and ability to withstand criminal attack. Having passed the tests, all Alluguard products will now carry the SBD and ‘Police Preferred Specification’ logos.

“We are delighted to have been awarded SBD accreditation,” says Gary Brooks, Managing Director at Alluguard. “We know how important security is to our customers and it has always been a very important consideration in the design and manufacture of all our garage doors. To have this officially recognised after undergoing the rigorous testing required is great news and adds considerable value to our products in the eyes of the consumer.”
