New Hörmann Sports Hall Doors

Hörmann SP 500 internal sports hall doors combine security, safety and durability in an aesthetically pleasing package.

Designed to keep sports equipment safe and secure, these doors must also behave as the hall wall when closed. The doors and tracks are designed to create a flush finish and when opening do not swing out but travel safely in the enclosed vertical and horizontal guides. The open door is fully contained within the track and so does not protrude into the hall when open. A recessed handle is designed-in to prevent the risk of injury and an elasticated foot trap protection device is fitted across the bottom edge.

The mechanism uses counterweights to make opening and closing almost effortless. Since they run so smoothly, buffer stops “brake” the door gently to a stop in both directions of travel. Double cables are used to prevent the door leaf from falling and the counterweights are fully enclosed in protective covers to prevent the risk of finger trap or reaching in injuries. Shock resistant cladding, low-wear track rollers and latch locks, on the top and sides, that engage automatically are included as standard.

As you would expect from Hörmann, the door leaf has been bounce tested and complies fully with stringent accident prevention regulations for schools.

Designed as an open-for-infill frame, that can be clad in a material and finish of your choice, the whole assembly is precision engineered. This attention to detail makes these doors easier to fit, with the required accuracy to ensure a flush fit and appearance is achieved.
