Assoferma Pledges Allegiance To ARGE

ARGE has confirmed that ASSOFERMA, the Italian Association of locks and hardware will be renewing its membership with the official European Federation for lock and hardware manufacturers.

After a two-year absence, which has seen the Italian Association restructure and realign its membership, ASSOFERMA announced that it will now be rejoining ARGE as the federation continues to protect and represent the interests of its members.
Representing the interests of 16 members of the Italian lock and hardware industry, ASSOFERMA is a vital member of ARGE. Lead by Bruno Cavestri of ANTIPANIC Srl, the association has been a point of information and assistance for lock and hardware manufacturers for over 80years.
As well as renewing its membership, following two years of change, the Italian national association has also signed up to ARGE's Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) programme, which has now reached 10 confirmed members with more expected to join before the annual conference.
Speaking on the decision, ARGE Chairman, Hans Weissenböck, said:
“We are pleased that ASSOFERMA has rejoined ARGE as an important and valuable national association, and the decision to commit to the EPD programme is sure to benefit its members.

“ARGE provides members with an opportunity to meet with colleagues and discuss common problems and opportunities related to standardisation, regulatory rules and international trade competition. In addition we aim to represent the commercial interests of our members and help them gain a competitive advantage in the market, by providing pan-European solutions.

“As well as rejoining ARGE, ASSOFERMA will also benefit from committing to the EPD programme, which will see the delivery of generic, Pan-European EPDs for hardware products by summer 2015. These will be critical in enabling hardware manufacturers to access the construction market and remain competitive in a market increasingly subject to European and international standards.”
